important decision of parents when they get a divorce or separate is to be good co-parents. The parties will always be family. The two parents will have to do what is best for the child. This will help the child be positive in his or her decision making. The two parents should communicate on all issues involving the well being of the child. Both should help with the medical care and the discipline of the child. In most cases, good co-parents will make the child grow up well and do well in school (“ Raising kids ”). Hutchinson, Baldwin , and Caldwell suggest parents are the best adults to show children right from wrong about what they do during their free time. Also, teaching the children and their parents themselves that they are responsible for their own actions in life, and especially during free time will help them become well – adjusted successful people (396+).
