Modern parenting strategies should not be redefined in order for children to develop into adults ready to take on 21st century challenges. Eastern parents believe that pushing, punishing, and insulting their kids is a good way to raise them, but is it really? In "10 Unsettling Trends Started By Tiger Moms" the author explains the ways most eastern parents raise their children. They want their child to learn multiple languages, have little to no play time, and even prepare for college during preschool. These are just three of the ten, the amount of pressure is unimaginable to most western children. They are pushing their children to be the best, but not realizing that the child will grow up not being a well-rounded adult. They may be able to solve equations but can they hold conversations? Eastern parents only care for academics, also they think of the arts outside music as a "a waste of time for students."
