Book report: PERCY JACKSON - THE SEA OF MONSTERS

1 - summary of the first (1/4) of the book

Percy is the son of the Greek sea god Poseidon. During the summer he has dreams about his friend Grover who is in trouble and asks him to come save him. Together with Annabeth and Tyson he comes to the Camp Half-Blood and when they get there they find out that someone has poisoned the magical tree that keeps the camp safe. Now they want to go on a quest to save Grover and find the only thing that can save the camp.

In my opinion the night when Percy and Annabeth ask the new activities director, Tantalus, to go out for a quest is a point where the plot changes. The whole camp supported them and asked Tantalus to let them go, but instead, Tantalus tells them a horrible story with only one conclusion - if they don't stop he will kill them all. In this moment Percy realizes that he must go on a quest even without permission because he will not get it.
