of my grandfather’s second wife. If I were to combine both sides of my families, I am able to form approximately the size of two military platoons. However, I am not close to them, and I rarely speak to them. The only time that I meet them is during Chinese New Year, which is only once a year. I do not treat them as family because I do not feel love and warmth from them. One example is when my grandfather, on my dad’s side, was being hospitalized. Having so many offsprings, my grandfather enjoys no benefits. My father took care of everything from the transportation to medical care, as well as every tiny matter. As my father’s son, I truly understand his attitude towards the situation: his father was being hospitalized.
