Personal Writing: My Jungle Safari



Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take a stroll
through one of the exotic jungles of Africa? I know I have, and although I
have never actually been to a jungle or even set one foot in Africa I still
have an imagination and this is what I think a trip through a jungle would
be like.
I took a long breathe and held it before letting it out slowly as
if it were something dear to me that I did not want to let go. I entered
the massive verdant jungle, the hot air breathing on my neck. The light
disappeared and it took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the gloom of the
jungles mysterious environment. The dead leaves under me were saturated

found its way through the trees and it danced on the nearby trees.
It made a swish as it flew through the air. When it hit the brush the
sword vibrated through my hand and the brush gave way to the knife and
allowed me to pass through.
A tiny light became clearer to me and I headed toward it. The bugs
became thicker and there were mosquitoes all around and it was getting
harder to take a breath without getting one in your mouth or up your nose.
Overhead there were monkeys talking back and forth about the intruders into
their world. I glanced up and saw one actually staring right at me. We
continued to stare at me until his screech broke the never-ending silence.
I kept walking for a while until I came to an oasis. The cold
water felt good going down my throat like the first drink you take after
you have ran a mile in the scorching heat. We continued on our journey
