Russia is a very interesting country. It has a rich history, a great Olympic past, and fascinating culture. Did you know Russia was responsible for the first space flight and launching the first satellite? Russia is also the largest country in the world. The next subject I am going to talk about is Russia's Olympic past. Russia is one of the most successful countries at many sports and continuously finishing in top rankings at the Olympic Games. On many occasions Russia has competed in the Olympics. They first competed in the 1900 Olympic Games. Since 1994 Russian athletes have won 399 medals at the summer games and 91 at the winter games. Total they have won 490 medals. In 2012 they were ranked in second place behind United States. Overall Russia has a great Olympic past.
Russia has a fascinating culture. First, Russians have a different mealtime custom than Americans. First instance, they have four meals a day. They start with "morning coffee" or zaftrak. Lunch or obyed is a small two-dish meal that lasts between 12 pm and 1 pm. Dinner or uzhin begins at 6 pm and consists of four courses. They also traditionally eat different types of food.
