The subject of same-sex marriage always tends to stir up a type of debate. Many people have different opinions of this idea, some feel that gay people should have a right to be with the one they love no matter what sex, yet some feel that only a man and a woman should be married. Marriage isn’t the only topic of discussion within heterosexual talk, the other main question is if they should also be allowed to adopt children? In the article, LGBT Parents and their Children, they discuss the advantages and challenges of outcomes experienced by LGBT Parents and their children. To begin with, LGBT are people who raise children that have often been labeled as “same-sex parents”. Some positive outcomes are that children the same sex marriages are more open-minded, less judgmental, or prejudice, and express a greater sense of social responsibility than their peers. This seems to make sense because a child of the same sex marriage most likely feels that their parents relationship is very much judged, and that it is not fair, so they learn to be less judgmental involving other situations (Joos, 2003).
