I believe that same-sex marriage should be legal in the United States (US), because it eliminates discrimination, and it grants minorities their rights as citizens. Prohibiting homosexuals' rights to marry allows for discrimination to exist in the US, because it eliminates homosexual's rights as people. Not only does this go against what our nation fought for in the civil war (equality), but it brings hate into our society making it okay to outcast homosexual people. Since I am a gay individual I can respectively say that being gay is not a choice, but is an acceptance of who you are. Living the life of a homosexual male is not as easy many may seem.
