Only 7% of men reported being sexually harassed, with 59% harassed by a female and 41% by another male. 62% of the 782 reported that they took no action toward the encounter (Sexual Harassment in the Workplace). Some examples of sexual harassment at work are repeated unwanted sexual invitations, insistent requests for dinner, drinks or dates, persistent letters, phone calls and other invitations (Types of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace). It does not matter where you work though; nobody wants to be sexually harassed while trying to earn a living.
Due to all of these “weird” people in the workplace, a system was invented to keep the workplace safer. It is called CORI and it checks your criminal background, among other things. CORI stands for Criminal Offender Record Information and it only applies to Massachusetts residents (Criminal Records and Applying for Jobs).
