The Black Panthers

In Oakland California in October 1966 Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton they started the Black Panther for self-defense. The Black Panthers were initially formed to protect local communities from police brutality and racism. This group also ran against medical clinics and provided free food to school children. So in a couple of weeks they fed over 10,000 children every day before the kids went to school. The six original black panthers was Elbert "Big Man" Howard; Huey P. Newton (Defense Minister), Sherman Forte, Bobby Seale (Chairman).Reggie Forte and Little Bobby Hutton (Treasurer).

17 years old, is shot dead by Oakland police. In a 90 minute gun battle, an unarmed Bobby Hutton is shot ten times dead after his house is set ablaze and he is forced to run out into a fire of bullets. Just two days earlier Martin Luther King is assassinated after he had begun rethinking his own doctrines of non-violence.
After Huey Newton released from prison he devotes programs in black communities for kids needing food and established free medical clinics, helped the homeless find housing, and gave away free clothing and food.
