Abstract

Many variables can control the behavior of the Sow bugs. The hypothesis was tested using two different types of environment water and dirt. We let the Sow bugs chose which one they wanted to go to. The data supported my hypothesis by showing more bugs went to dirt.

Sow bugs prefer living in dirt better because that's their natural habitat. The independent variable is water and the dependent variable is the sow bug. The control group is the dirt.

Methods

First the materials you will need for this experiment are water, dirt, 1 pencil boxes and Sow bugs. First you have to fill half the p pencil box up with water and the other with dirt. Then you get 10 sow bugs and place them in the middle of the pencil box not in the dirt or water. Once all the bugs have been placed in the pencil box you watch and observe and see how many went to water and how many chose dirt. Also see how they act different in each environment with any behavior changes. The most important thing known how the bugs live in the dirt because that's the control group and their natural environment. Be as detailed as possible so you know which one they like.
