America is known to be a country created by immigrants. The United States population is increasing annually; a large amount of the population are immigrants whom are legal and illegal. Now, in the 20[th] century this is become a topic of debate. Should illegal immigrants be granted a path to citizenship? This question is being argued with reasons from those who agree and those whom oppose. People that agree with a path to citizenship and amnesty have different reasons than those who oppose of a path to citizenship. Each believe that their views will benefit the United States.

Writer Sima states in her article, "The center for American Progress predicts the economy would grow $1.5 trillion in gross domestic product if comprehensive immigration reform passes" (Sima1).
