When it comes to the vaccinations, there are some vaccines that not only protect against one disease, but many others as well. “Vaccines against infectious disease undoubtedly have specific disease-protective effects but there is also increasing evidence that they affect the resistance to other infectious diseases, so-called nonspecific effects, and these effects may be strongly beneficial” (Benn, Netea, Selin, and Aaby, 2013, pg.1). Children who receive these vaccines have mistakenly been protected against the original illness from the vaccine, but as well as other diseases which can be beneficial to both the child and society itself. This can be very important to lower the influenza percentage to a low rating since children are the biggest components to viral transmissions.
