On December 5, 1901 Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois to mother Flora Call-Disney and father Elias Disney. When Walt turned four , his parents decided to move to a farm that his older brother Roy Disney had purchased in Marceline, Missouri,. There in Chicago, Walt held a summer job in the post office and also helped his father in the factory. Then at the young age of 16 he dropped out of high school to join the war effort in world war one. He was rejected for being underage so he volunteered for the Red Cross and was sent to France to drive an ambulance transporting injured soldiers in 1914. After returning from there in 1918, Walt had no other job choice for himself other than his father’s jelly company, yet he tried his best to find a job that supports his talent and eventually received a temporary job with the help of his brother Roy at the Pesmen-Rubin Art Studio.
