Welfare once began as a way to save the over burdened American from complete and total loss of everything they had worked so hard to acquire or accomplish, but it has now become the largest and misused form of government support that now only serves to make people more dependent, and in turn damages society morally as a whole.

most people on welfare do not receive enough money to save up and buy nicer things. Most will have to only own mediocre personal possessions or less. This will be the cause of many people on welfare to steal things either to sell or to have something better than what they can afford. The housing complexes are breeding grounds for gangs and many crimes, but the most widely accepted form of crime by people on welfare is the selling of drugs. Selling drugs is what many people on welfare see as the only way to rise above their monetary status and add to the financial allotment that the government gives monthly. This is what they see as the only way to be able to buy better and nicer things than most others on welfare. This is the option most choose over getting a job.
