The snow fell around my frosted feet as I stood by the icy Oak tree. The blue sky seemed awkward in the blustery weather. I felt a cold breeze go through my hair through my soft, woolen hat. My fingers began to feel numb and I put them in my pockets to warm them up as much as I could. I pulled the collar of my coat up higher to my neck and felt the cold zipper brush my chin. My teeth began to chatter when I realized the frigid air surrounding me was only becoming colder.

dreary season upon me. From afar I heard the faint whisper of car engines driving slowly on the slippery roads. The silence of the fields immediately surrounding me was broken with the roaring of snowmobiles making trails and children’s laughter as their sleds neared where I was standing. The laughter ceased as the sleds came to a halt visible through the barren trees ahead of me. The kids picked themselves up and trudged up the hill, their feet crunching below them disturbing the clean lines of newly fallen snow.
