Yom Kippur
Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the year for the Jewish people. It focuses on the themes of atonement and repentance, and it's normally observed by a 25-hour period of fasting and intense prayer. Yom Kippur is one of the most important days in the Jewish year and it's full of intense prayer and repentance.

viewed as a happy day due to the results of the day. The day has three main parts, which are: Teshuvah (repentance), prayer, and fasting.
Teshuvah, otherwise known as repentance, is the first of the three main components of Yom Kippur. During Teshuvah, Jews drive to make amends with others and to repair their relationship with God through. Teshuvah actually takes place during the ten days before Yom Kippur, which are full of repentance. During these days, known as the Ten Days of Repentance, Jews are to right all wrongs in order to start the Jewish New Year off on a clean slate. This is a crucial part of Yom Kippur; many people believe that repentance is granted through the prayer and fasting on Yom Kippur, but they are mistaken, and without Teshuvah, the purpose of Yom Kippur is not fulfilled.
