didn’t fully understand what he expected out of me the first couple weeks. I was having trouble getting around the school traffic and I always ended up late to class, he yelled at me. I didn’t know what to do; certainly I’m not running to class every day just because this guy gets pissed off. So began our first argument. I eventually found out instead of going over the overpass I can go outside, which was a quicker route.
I was the kind of undisciplined kid who you had to get around my ego to teach me anything, which is what he did. He would yell at me and make me follow the rules of his classroom, which made me realize I’ve been a real jerk who had a lot of growing up to do. I never, until then, looked at what the teacher was trying to get across to me which was he IS in charge and I am EXPECTED to follow the rules.
