Autism comes in many different forms. Autistic Disorder is one, Pervasive Disorder and another form, and another form, which is thought to be the mildest version of Autism, is Asperger’s Syndrome. They are all forms of the same disease but some are less severe and others are more rigorous.
Autism and Autism’s history, as far as we know, goes back to 1911. Eugen Bleuler, a Swiss psychiatrist was the first to discover Autism. He was the first to use the term and/or word, Autism. During the 1940’s-1960’s, doctors believed that kids with Autism were showing signs of schizophrenia, which later in life could become brutal adult schizophrenia. Then during the year 1943, at the Jons Hopkins University, Dr. Leo Kanner was the first person to actually describe Autism, the symptoms and such.
