There are many terrible and unfortunate diseases in the world today. For most of these appalling and dreadful diseases, there is no known cure. Science now a day is improving greatly, and scientists are doing all that is in their power to find a cure for these diseases. We are getting closer and closer to finding these cures, but for now, people with these diseases have to live with plain medicine and treatments that help towards calming and decreasing the disease. The disease that I chose to do a report on was, Autism. Autism is a complex disease and deserves a lot of attention.

Autism comes in many different forms. Autistic Disorder is one, Pervasive Disorder and another form, and another form, which is thought to be the mildest version of Autism, is Asperger’s Syndrome. They are all forms of the same disease but some are less severe and others are more rigorous.
Autism and Autism’s history, as far as we know, goes back to 1911. Eugen Bleuler, a Swiss psychiatrist was the first to discover Autism. He was the first to use the term and/or word, Autism. During the 1940’s-1960’s, doctors believed that kids with Autism were showing signs of schizophrenia, which later in life could become brutal adult schizophrenia. Then during the year 1943, at the Jons Hopkins University, Dr. Leo Kanner was the first person to actually describe Autism, the symptoms and such. In the late 1960’s, after being taught about Autism, people finally understood what it was. Since the 1980’s, Autism cases have rapidly increased.
