Cancer doesn't only affect the person that has been diagnosed with it, but cancer affects that person's family and friends. The effects cancer has on these people are devastating.
Cancer is the leader in deaths all over the world. Many families are devastated from the loss of a friend or relative because they had cancer. Millions of people die every year because of cancer, but loss isn't the only effect cancer has the ones suffering with cancer and their loved ones.

can total up to thousands of dollars each visit depending on if blood is drawn, x-rays are taken, radiation and chemotherapy are used, an operation is performed to remove a tumor, or the doctor prescribes medications. The medical bills are something the family doesn't worry about until after their loved one is cured or has passed. This way the family can have all possible procedures done to try to save or prolong the life of their loved ones. When the time does come to pay for the different procedures, surgeries, therapies, and medicines, the family becomes stressed and distraught about the financial hardship they are in.
The stress that cancer puts on a family is very hard to deal with. Between having a member of the family very ill and needing to be taken care of, and running to work, the post office, home, and the hospital; to get bills paid for, check on their ill loved ones, and get the correct prescriptions and fluids to treat the cancer while at home.
