With today's technology we are able to do so much more and learn so much more than we have ever done before. How is the government using this technology, have they gone too far or should they do more? Domestic surveillance is one way that the government is using this technology and they are infringing on the fourth amendment. The fourth amendment is a part of the bill of rights and it prohibits unreasonable search and seizures and a warrant is needed by the justice system with probable cause. The PATRIOT act and the USA act began full force under the Bush administration and this bill would allow strong invasion on the private lives of innocent American citizens to search and uncover terrorist acts. The American civil liberties Union were not so keen on this Idea, "While it contains provisions that we support, the American civil liberties union believes that the USA PATRIOT act gives the attorney general and federal law enforcement unnecessary and permanent new powers to violate civil liberties that go far beyond the stated goal of fighting international terrorism.
