. The nature of the task or tasks.
. The time in which it must be completed, or, alternatively, the ordinary hours expected and interim or continuing deadlines if it is a continuing project.
. The budget devoted to the project.
. The location of the project.
. The preferred personality types of the team members.
. The skill sets needed for the task.
. Interaction with any other already existing team members and with those outside the team.

3. Each individual will have an impact on how the team operates and on the success the team achieves. For example, a team member who is prone to over-criticizing others may slow the team down as those criticized deal with both the valid arguments and objections, and any reaction to those criticisms, particularly if those criticized are sensitive. It may even lead to team defections; either scenario may lead to failure.

Likewise, an overly sensitive team member can also slow the team down as others realize they have to 'take care of' that member and may not feel they can speak freely even when it is warranted.
