Allow the neck to be free in order for the head to go forward and up in order for the back to lengthen and widen in order for the knees to release forward and away in order for the elbows to release out and away. with my nerdy and nervous character, I first made myself effortlessly upright, which is becoming a heck of a lot easier. I guess practice does really make perfect. My next step was softening my neck and rolling my head down and forward in space. I did my best to allow my body to follow. I felt my chest move down as well and my knees buckled. It really lent itself to the character and the response from Mary-Ellen I got was “Wow, what made you do that?” It also did something miraculous for my support higher notes.
