Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver, Someone with hepatitis may have one of several disorders, including viral or bacteria infection. Hepatitis is most commonly caused by one of three viruses, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. In rare cases, the Epstein Barr Virus can also result in hepatitis because it can also cause inflammation of the liver. Other viruses and bacteria that also can cause hepatitis include D and E, chickenpox, and cytomegalovirus.
