How ‘Realistic’ is Macon State’s Tobacco Policy

lightening up at an alarming rate. As a study I conducted over the past few weeks, I found out that eight of my friends smoke outside the HSS Building in February of 2011. Out of those smokers, five of them are girls and the other three were boys. The Macon State Tobacco policy surely needs to be enforced by the cops on campus. The policy states:

“The use of tobacco and tobacco products is prohibited in all campus buildings, including residence calls, as well as in all vehicles owned, leased or rented by the College. Tobacco use is also prohibited within 50 feet, approximately 20 paces, of the main entrance to all campus buildings; including residence halls with the exception of College designated areas” (3).
