Because of the large population and the fear of it becoming unbearably large for human living, the Chinese government under leader Deng Xiaoping, designated a law that would help limit China’s population growth.(“geography”) In 1979 China established its “One Child Policy”, which limits ethnic Han couples in urban areas to having only one child.
