Protein

The mRNA is trancribed with the help of an enzyme called RNA polymerase from the DNA in the nucleus. The mRNA then, through the nuclear membrane pore, travels to the cytoplasm where there is a ribosome bounded to the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The mRNA goes to a bound ribosome instead of a free one because it is producing a secreted protein. The ribosome will then binds to the mRNA. It is composed with 2 subunits. Each subunit contains a protein and rRNA where it is assembles in the nucleolus. The ribosome will then move down the mRNA. The tRNA will carry the amino acid that will compose the protein to the mRNA. However, the rRNA will not start transporting the AA until the ribosome has ...

inside the rough ER. It is then sent to the golgi apparatus by a vesicle which is formed when a part of the ER membrane pinched off to form a compartment. The vesicle fuses with the golgi apparatus. The golgi will then decides the protein destination. Once desided, another vesicle fromed from the golgi will send the protein to the destination. The destination could be at the lysosomes or outside or the ...
