cared about her feelings and appearance. Her ex-husband seemed as if he always had a chain on her every movement so that it would make him look good. The one before that treated her as if she was a slave. Without this chapter she would not have broken free. She would not have explored different things in life. She would actually live her life for once.
“So much of life in his meshes” , this was from the last chapter and I think this tied in chapter twelve. As stated before Tea Cake was exploring Janie to new aspects of life.
