Introduction

1.1 This report explains in depth how the sitcoms have changed over time in the way families were seen throughout the generations, the expectations of the family's humour in the two sitcoms used different types of humour to capture the audience's attention. Two sitcoms from different eras must show us this difference in the family's humour of the 1980s to the 21[st] century.

This uses humour that shows the differences of how a family is, for example the family of three children, where the father thinks his awesome, the teenage girl who likes people the mother disagrees with, and the younger brother and sister that are always trying to hurt one and other.
