"Really? You really think so?' The Pharaoh beamed with pride. "Why, I believe you're right. What do you think, honey?"
The Pharaoh's Queen sauntered over from her dresser, at which her personal attendant applied her makeup: lapis-encrusted eye shadow and gold leaf powder for extra shine on the cheeks.
The Pharaoh's personal manicurists for the past five years, Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep stared at the Queen awaiting her approval. Niankhkhnum had done her nails just hours earlier and she seemed satisfied, but the Queen could be quite critical, as she was a highly particular woman.

Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep clasped each others hands and squealed with delight. "Thank you, your majesty! I am speechless!" Khnumhotep said. Niankhkhnum really was speechless and could not say a word.
When the royal manicurists Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep left the Pharaoh's chambers, they walked home for the first time holding hands. Proud of their newly elevated status in the community, the couple strolled over to the temple and delivered the Pharaoh's message.
"We'll go dancing tonight for sure!" said Niankhkhnum. "I heard that Ankhamun and the Ra Band are performing later! I wonder what I'll wear..."
"Your green headdress, that's your crowning glory."
