Jews often became scapegoats. There was widespread slaughter of the Jews and many Jewish communities perished.
The bubonic plague has several, very distinct symptoms. It begins with rashes, headaches, vomiting, and aching joints. The temperature rises to above a hundred degrees and areas around the groin and armpits begin to swell. The swelled area is called buboes. The buboes grow to be about the size of a chicken egg. In about four days the end is reached with death.
