Afterwards purple spots in most parts of the body; in some cases large and but few in number, in others smaller and more numerous both sorts the usual messengers of death. The cure of this plague, neither medical knowledge nor the power of drugs was of any effect; whether because the disease was in its own nature mortal or that the physicians could form no just idea of the cause.
While this was occurring, people began to reflect on their life, they're past, present and future expectation. When faced with death, people began too look back on their life, “life flashing before their eyes”. People begin to appreciate things much more when they are aware it will all be coming to an end. When the Black Death was among them, people lost the true meaning of what was right or wrong.
